The founders waited 10 years to find the perfect location, situated next to the old town and facing onto the emblematic Val d’Isère bell tower, while also enjoying the seclusion of the Isère river separating the chalet from the hustle and bustle of the centre.
Over the years, the owners have spent time searching and collecting ideas and original architectural artefacts, such as these amazing Afghan columns supporting the main sun deck, or the rare sculpted and painted Berber ceiling matching the dimensions of the swimming pool below. Decorative pieces such as the two bronze and gold pilgrim monks come from private collections rivalling even those from international museums.
All the interiors have been designed by the owners themselves along with other great names enthusiastically contributing to this project with no expenses spared.
As if in a dream, the interior décor at Chalet Marco Polo takes you on a unique journey to explore the vast steppes of Gengis Khan, the kingdom of Suleiman the Magnificent, the roof of the world. From Occident to the Orient, on the silk road travelled by Marco Polo.
More than a chalet, the Marco Polo represents an all-consuming quest for the rare and precious. It is a unique experience of sensations, ultimate well-being and sophistication at a level never before attained. Open your eyes, imagine, transport yourself to the Marco Polo, a dream come true and one of the most beautiful luxury chalets in the world.
The six rooms of this ski chalet can accommodate up to 14 people. They are all at the same level of the house and each with its own particular style.
The Master suite mirrors the chalet: imposing and sophisticated. A purpose designed and painted ceiling accentuates its crystal chandelier. The main dressing room has two majestic doors, each from Afghanistan and India, perfectly combined. The bedside lamps and shelves are made from petrified wood and fit ideally with the stone bathtub. All the bedrooms feature superior bed linen selected from the world’s leading brands.
